Train Operations for CMRL
In 2017, Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), a Tamil Nadu State government organization, made the historic decision to outsource the metro train operations of the Chennai Metro Phase 1 project through a tender. MEMCO emerged as the first private company to secure the outsourced train operations contract from CMRL in 2017. Subsequently, in 2019, MEMCO was further entrusted with the operation of the Depot Control Center (DCC) and Progress Planning Investigation Office (PPIO). Employing a distinctive methodology for roster preparation, MEMCO effectively monitored and managed train operators, ensuring smooth train operations. With a dedicated staff of 161 train operators, MEMCO successfully handled the operation of Chennai Metro Train Operations, 17 DCC, and PPIO until 2023.
Train Operations for MMMOCL
In 2019, Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL), a Maharashtra State government organization, opted to outsource the metro train operations of lines 2A and 7 via a tender. Building on its success with CMRL, MEMCO secured its second Train Operations contract, spanning 5 years, for lines 2A and 7 from MMMOCL in 2020. Since then, MEMCO has effectively managed the train operation of lines 2A and 7, boasting a team of 142 dedicated Train Operators, Train Operation Managers, and Crew Controllers. In 2023, MEMCO clinched its third train operations contract, the second from MMMOCL, for Line 2B, extending over another 5 years. As part of this expansion endeavor, MEMCO plans to onboard an additional 120 Train Operators, 6 Crew Controllers (CC), and 5 Train Operations Managers (TOMs) for line 2B, solidifying its commitment to efficient and reliable metro train operations.
